Chef Smash Burger
Makes two double deckers
Ingredients
- 400g lean beef mince
- 2 brioche buns
- Chef relish
- Chef whole pickled gherkins
- 4 smoked streaky rashers
- 4 slices of American cheese
- Sea salt & cracked black pepper
Method
Preheat your barbecue nice and hot.
Divide the mince into 4 equal patties and shape them nicely. Between two pieces of parchment paper, smash them with your potato masher until nicely flattened.
Season then nicely on both sides with sea salt and cracked black pepper. Place the bacon onto the bbq.
Place the patties on the bbq to cook until golden on both sides – this normally takes around 10 mins and then place the cheese on. Close the lid of the barbecue, and allow the cheese to melt. Once the bacon is cooked, remove it from the barbecue and keep warm. Once the beef burgers are cooked, remove them and keep them warm also. Toast the buns on the barbecue and now you can build your burger. Start with some chef relish on the bottom, then add some sliced gherkins, followed by one of the patties, some of the crispy bacon, another one of the cheesy patties and then finish with the top bun with a good spreading of Chef relish. Enjoy.
