Chef BBQ Beef Brisket

Ingredients:

  • 1kg of Beef Brisket
  • 1 tablespoon of smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Chef BBQ sauce
  • 4 brioche buns

For the red cabbage slaw:

  • Half a head of shredded red cabbage
  • 4 tbsp of mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your BBQ to (160°C). In a small bowl, mix the paprika, brown sugar, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper.
  2. Rub the spice mixture all over the beef brisket, making sure to coat it evenly. Place the brisket into the bbq and cook for about 3 to 4 hours, or until the brisket is tender and easily pulls apart with a fork.
  3. While the brisket is cooking, prepare the red cabbage slaw. In a large bowl, combine the shredded red cabbage, mayonnaise, honey, salt, and pepper. Toss everything together until the cabbage is well-coated. Adjust the seasoning according to your taste.
  4. Once the brisket is done, baste it with the bbq sauce for about 15 minutes.
  5. Toast the brioche buns lightly.
  6. To assemble the sandwiches, place a generous amount of the BBQ brisket on the bottom half of each brioche bun. Top it with a portion of the red cabbage slaw. Cover with the top half of the bun.
  7. Serve the BBQ brisket sandwiches with additional BBQ sauce and enjoy!
